The possibility of an Erdogan-Misotakis meeting in Prague is not ruled out, said the representative of the Turkish presidency, Ibrahim Kalin.
After a time of tension in Greek-Turkish relations, as Recep Tayyip Erdogan had repeatedly said that he would not meet Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Kalin said tonight, in an interview with NTV, that the possibility of such a meeting it will be judged by the steps taken by the Greek side.
“Our president does not exclude anyone. When a step is taken, our president takes two steps. I don’t know if there will be a meeting in Prague on October 6-7. It depends on the steps the Greek side takes. At the moment there are no meetings scheduled with Mitsotakis,” Kalin said.
Furthermore, the representative of the Turkish presidency said that some moves have already been made on the Greek side, but did not explain further.
It is worth noting that Kyriakos Mitsotakis also mentioned the New EU+ Summit in Prague, to which Turkey has been invited, during the press conference he gave to TIF.
“I am ready to meet him and he does not wish to see me. I appreciate that we meet again. There are opportunities in the coming months, in Prague, the EPK meeting, which will be Turkey. But you should know that in a European forum you will obviously be confronted with the Greek argument and you will be asked to answer whether this point is consistent with a country that wants relations with Europe.” the prime minister had declared.
