Special measures to deal with the effects of the war in Ukraine, announced the Ministry of Rural Development.
Due to the rapid increase in the prices of basic products and feed, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development decided to use the exceptions to the “greening” obligations for the year 2022, provided for in Commission Implementing Decision 2022/484 , to support farmers.
- In the context of the obligation to diversify crops and Ecological Restoration Areas, set-aside land may be considered as a separate crop, even if it has been grazed, harvested for productive purposes, or cultivated with spring crops.
- By virtue of the Obligation of Ecological Restoration Zones, surface in retreat, if the farmers decide to avail themselves of the previous exception, the use of phytosanitary products for productive or cultivation purposes is allowed.
- The above areas are not counted in the associated support scheme because, despite the application of the exceptions, these areas retain the category of “set aside land” in the context of the “greening” obligations.
- The above exceptions may not be applicable to plots of land that are included in rural development measures of the PDR 2014-2020, with an obligation to set aside land.
