In particular:

  1. In the context of the obligation to diversify crops and Ecological Restoration Areas, set-aside land may be considered as a separate crop, even if it has been grazed, harvested for productive purposes, or cultivated with spring crops.
  2. By virtue of the Obligation of Ecological Restoration Zones, surface in retreat, if the farmers decide to avail themselves of the previous exception, the use of phytosanitary products for productive or cultivation purposes is allowed.
  • The above areas are not counted in the associated support scheme because, despite the application of the exceptions, these areas retain the category of “set aside land” in the context of the “greening” obligations.
  • The above exceptions may not be applicable to plots of land that are included in rural development measures of the PDR 2014-2020, with an obligation to set aside land.

Thus, the total amount related to this program is 524.7 million euros. The additional amount will cover part of the excess demand, together with 20 million to be redistributed, as the initial distribution was not covered by demand in four Regions (South Aegean, Ionian Islands, Attica, Epirus).

Also, in addition to the above amounts, 4.5 million euros are available to meet the commitment to full inclusion of candidates from the Western Macedonia Region within the framework of the Transition to Just Development.

The decision was made by the minister Giorgos Georgantas and the competent deputy minister Giorgos Stylios, at the proposal of the Secretary General for Resources and Infrastructures of the Union, Dimitris Papagiannidis.
